The Amazing Story Of An Australian Man Who Left The Rat Race And Discovered Tropical Paradise, Happiness, And The Women Of His Dreams!

Philippine Dreams
The Philippines is an excellent place to retire, if only from a view to how you can spread your retirement savings or income or pension from month to month and still live comfortably.

Forget wasting away in a retirement home or village, retire to the Philippines and really LIVE! As little as US $500 a month can see you living quietly yet comfortably in a rural province. US $1000 per month and you can live well in Cebu or Davao and US $1500 will allow you to live in perhaps even a grander style in Manila or on Boracay Island.

Maids, drivers, cooks, domestic servants are all affordable and part of the culture here and you can hire you own live-in domestic helper from as little as US $30 a month!

Hi, Sounds like you know the place really well. I'm currently in Subic looking for my first trip to Boracay. (A family trip) Mom,Aunt,Uncle,Thai GF,Cousin and myself. Just browsing for a nice place to stay(60-80)USD a night, 3 rooms,4 nights. Any suggestions? Family is flying in from Canada on the 25th and we will be jetting to Boracay the next day. Really appreciate any advice you may have. Cheers.

Hi Phil,

Can you be more specific about the price you want to pay. Do you mean 60-80 per night for a single room or 60-80 per night for three rooms? We are in the high season now and the resorts are getting top dollar. Basic rooms run from 1000-3000 Pesos per night.

I am appalled with the way you try to "sell" living in the Philippines to foreign retirees through your blog. You didn't do Boracay the justice it deserves but you highlighted the inexpensive labor. I was half expecting you will mention your wife as well - isn't she giving her domestic services to you for free - that is, in exchange of your pretense of love.

You aren't too different with the cow in the cemetery where you strongly feel never to be buried - except that the cow was doing it for survival, eating what's left of the green grass. You on the other hand is doing it to the culture you are into right now (and hopefully not until the day you die) - consuming it to "wisely" spend you hard-earned cash.
